    4 days trying to get OWC Travel Dock to recognize Samsung SSD T5 & T7 via it's USB-C port on a MacBook Pro running Ventura 13.6.7. Hours of chatting with Tech Support. Uninstall-Re-install loop that still won't show if Dock Ejector is allowed in under Privacy and Security tab under System Settings. Both drives power lights are on when connected to Travel dock. External drives are visible and accessible on desktop when plugged directly into the USB-C port of the MacBook but not through the Travel Dock. Supposedly OWC Dock Ejector contains a extension that will power the external drives via USB-C port. WTF!

    I found this video while searching for an external BluRay drive and just had to comment. I had the pleasure of tracking guitar at Blackbird for four days in Februrary 2024 @ Studios A and C. It is simply a magical place. Mark Rubel (may he RIP) speaking of it as "Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory" is not an exaggeration. Facility and Staff are amazing. An adult Disneyland for musicians.

    What is OWC's process for recovering data if something is to be corrupt? Their help page lists for a mechanical SSD failure that you get a 20% discount through DriveSavers, but nothing through the manufacturer. It's still an IF, but if/when anything happens, how much more is it going to cost users in time and $? Sony fully guarantees their media will work and provide an in-house free recovery service, albeit it comes with a higher starting price for their cards.

    • @poweredbyowc
      @poweredbyowc 5 дней назад

      We apologize, but OWC is not responsible for any loss, corruption, or destruction of data on any hard drive as part of a storage solution unless otherwise specified in the product warranty section of the product information page on OWC. We have linked our TOS page regarding data loss. If you require data recovery, we strongly recommend reaching out to DriveSavers, as you have already reviewed. eshop.macsales.com/support/terms-and-conditions-of-sale

      @@poweredbyowc Definitely worth explaining in the video to potential customers. From what I've seen DriveSavers pricing starts at $800 minimum, which is almost 2x the price of the card itself!!! I'm going to pass as dealing with 3rd party data recovery service has never gone over well; not quick or affordable. I'll stick with the Sony cards.

The video is well made to the point I've to leave a comment. I've encountered nothing but junk videos throughout my search for a simple 1 wire docking or conference monitor solution. Believe it or not, there isn't any review demonstrating the number of steps a user has to make to switch between onboard and external cameras, speakers, and mic. No profile solutions for un/docking so to speak.

    Is it a reason you didn’t replace the ram from the back of the imac where you push the button and there is a slot that comes off instead of taking screen off the long way? Not being smart just asking from others I seen, or is the 27 inch and 21 inch ram replacers different?

    • @poweredbyowc
      @poweredbyowc 12 дней назад

      Hey Doffy, That is a great question, and many have wondered the same. Unfortunately, since 2012, Apple decided to design the 21.5" iMacs without a back door for RAM upgrades. This means the only way to upgrade the RAM in the 2012 and later 21.5" iMacs is through a more involved process that requires opening the machine.

    Just a few words to thank you for sharing Spleeter app. I was actually looking for an application allowing me to split tracks which I could later use both with BOSS RC-505MikII and DAW and stumbled on your video. I first went into some ffmpeg configuration issues during installation telling me binary wasn't found, though I managed to solve the issue following your instruction. So I installed ffmpeg manually and just needed to add new System Environment path variable. I then reran the "spleeter separate..." code line with 4 stems params using Visual Studio Code (which I'm using for most Python codes) and everything worked really well. I used an mp3 version of Paul Shaffer Late Night w David Letterman theme sample, which is mainly instrumental, so I didn't need a vocal track which turned out to be empty. Both Hammond B3 organ and guitar parts ended up on same track. I was wondering if there was a way to re-split the generates .wav files or specify I don't need any vocal track. Any hints would be greatly appreciated. 😉👍

    I found poor documentation for this. Although I was using a M2 Mac Air, the bus did not power the adapter so nothing worked as shown in these videos. I had to add a 5 volt power source to the "external power port" on the adapter before the Mac would recognize it. Furthermore I had to find and download the Display Link driver for the Mac, only then would the extra two monitors show up in settings. And BTW, it works flawlessly! Perhaps my adapter was a return since there were no installation instructions included in the package. OSC support never responded to my request for help.
